Fifth Grade

Fifth graders work hard on projects and tasks that require them to draw on the skills and strategies they have been learning in elementary school. They may have separate teachers for each subject for the first time and teachers challenge students with long-term projects that require planning. As students reach fifth grade, they begin to establish independence from parents and teachers. They are able to grasp the general concepts of reading, writing, and math, and are able to follow multi-step directions. They begin to find their own information and be self-directed learners.

In many schools, fifth graders will soon be moving on to middle school, and children may feel both thrilled and overwhelmed by the transition. Their list of schoolwork keeps growing and keeping up with the due dates would be difficult. If your child could use some extra help with his studies, the answer is AtHome Tuition. The AtHome Tuition lessons are designed to be fun, flexible and easy to use and navigate for all students.
